It all started with the appearance of the human being on earth. The fact that there were periods of light alternating with others of darkness must have been the first signal for man to look at the heavens.

The primitive man saw in the celestial alterations inexplicable phenomena that terrified him. His total ignorance led him to believe that almighty beings inhabited heaven, responsible for everything that happened in the sky.

The fact that the cosmos influenced the destinies of the tribes, made their inhabitants turn these beings into a kind of gods that had to be worshiped and idolized so as not to anger them. In this way they intended to conserve their crops, ensure the provision of hunting or simply not die of cold.

The religious component marked the origin of astronomical observation. Many of the astronomers who observed and studied the sky in ancient times were reviled, persecuted and even tried and executed. In fact, many of these religious components are still held in many cultures as superstitions.

The practice of observation from its origins was a universal phenomenon. In all those places where man lived along the planet since its appearance, all kinds of manifestations related to this topic have been found. On the walls of European caves, in the pyramids of Egypt and the Maya, or in the temples of antiquity of all cultures it is clear that man observed and studied the celestial variations.
